Easter Week Recap

We know that for the Christian, every day is Resurrection Day. The life and power of Jesus are always available and always at work in and through us. Praise God that we can walk in His resurrection power and promises every single day! Having said that, there is something special about taking intentional time to reflect on the work of the cross and resurrection. Easter week is always a week where the Spirit of God works in people’s hearts in powerful ways through the message of Christ crucified and risen to life forevermore. It was no exception this last week here in Northern California! Here is a brief recap of some of the wonderful things God did among us.

Baptism Wednesday

baptism-8

It was such a blessing to see so many, even some right on the spot, publicly declare their commitment to Christ through baptism. Sixteen people total shared their testimony and were baptized into Christ! For a full recap, check out my post here.

Good Friday

Worship-5

This year we held two Good Friday services which saw approximately 1300 people gather to remember and celebrate the cross of Christ. Our noon service at the North Campus focused on the dichotomy of the cross. For more on that, check out this blog post. At 6:30, we offered our South Campus for a community wide Good Friday service where 9 churches gathered for an amazing time of worship and reflection on Psalm 22. The recap of that event with some pictures can be found here.

Easter Sunday

Sunrise Service: Our Easter celebrations kicked off bright and early for a Sunrise Service at 6:30 AM on our back lawn at the North Campus. This service has been growing in popularity since we started it 3 years ago. As the sun rose upon us, we rejoiced and reflected on the morning 2000 years ago that changed everything. And how about the weather? We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!

Morning services: The morning continued with a full house at our North Campus for first service. God was clearly moving through our time together in worship and the Word. We saw 1 man come forward to receive the gift of salvation and hundreds more stand in recommitment to walk in the resurrection power fo God’s Spirit. Our second service at South campus was just as uplifting as 4 more people made commitments to Christ. On top of that, what a blessing it was to see so many new faces and such a great response to the message. It’s clear that Jesus is alive and at work among us, and I can’t wait to see what He has in mind next!

Acts 4:33 – And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.
