You never know quite what to expect at church on Super Bowl Sunday. I would love to say that football and church never compete, but alas… (BTW, nothing against football here. I enjoyed watching the Eagles handle the Patriots just as much as the next guy. And how about Nick Foles? Grateful for his witness!). Despite my skepticism, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people show up at church with excitement, anticipation, and open hearts!
It was a blessing to have our local Cub Scouts and their families at church with us helping stock our community food closet. I love seeing the church and community partner together for the greater good of those in need. I pray that they were blessed by us as much as we were blessed by them!
Another highlight of the morning was having our worship leader Grayson back with us after an extended time off for vocal rest. We are so grateful for the Lord’s healing in him and are excited to see how God will continue to use our worship team in the days to come. By the way, our original worship album is slated for release in March. Check out the website here.
We finished our entitlement series with a message from Matthew 11, outlining one of the most beautiful invitations from God to man. Jesus invites us to come to Him, take from Him, learn from Him and rest in Him. If you want to listen to this message in its entirety, you can find it later this week on our church website here.
The morning closed with communion, a corporate prayer as we knelt before the Lord as a church, and several people making a decision to follow Jesus for the first time! We couldn’t have asked for a more powerful miracle! The miracle of salvation never ceases to amaze me, and always reminds me to do the work of an evangelist.
What a beautiful morning. The work that God is doing amongst us is nothing short of divine. It seems like every week imparts to me a greater sense of the heart of God for this area, and I can’t wait to see what He has in store next!
Have an incredible week as you walk in Christ’s love and power!
